National selection criteria

BDSF NATIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

The following criteria will be used to select the breakers who will represent Belgium in WDSF competitions where selection is mandatory and national selection is approved by WDSF. Breakers are required to cover their own expenses unless stated otherwise.

MINIMUM CRITERIA

To be eligible for selection, the athlete must meet all the following criteria:

  • Comply with the international criteria of WDSF (www.wdsf.org).
  • Be a member of the national federation BDSF via FWBDS or DSV.
  • Have achieved a top 16 or better position in one of the following battles:
    • The most recently organized WDSF World or European Championship within the last 78 weeks.
    • The most recently organized BC One World Final within the last 78 weeks.
    • A '2 or 3 stars' international 1-on-1 battle within the last 52 weeks.

    If more athletes meet the minimum criteria than there are quota places allocated to Belgium by WDSF, BDSF will allocate the places in the following order:

    1. World performance
    2. BDSF national ranking system

    World performance

    Athletes who have achieved one or more world performances in one of the following 1-on-1 battles in the most recently organized edition of the nominated battle, up to 78 weeks prior to the moment of selection for the selection battle:

    • Top 8 in the WDSF World Championship edition 2023 or later
    • Top 4 in the Last Chance Cypher BC One edition 2023 or later
    • Top 4 in the WDSF European Championship edition 2023 or later

    BDSF national ranking system

    Athletes with the highest total score based on the following internal ranking system, which takes into account the 3 best results from the nominated battles, effectively organized up to 52 weeks prior to the moment of selection for the selection battle. BDSF reserves the right to add selection battles throughout the year.
